Definitive sentencing guidelines for the sentencing of animal cruelty offences were published on 10 May 2023 and the online sentencing guidelines now contains these in a purple colour scheme prior to them coming into force in all courts in England and Wales on 1 July 2023. Once the new guidelines are in force, the colour scheme will go to blue and old guidelines will be removed.
