The Sentencing Council has published its seventh annual report outlining activities from April 2016 to March 2017.

The report sets out what the Council has achieved during the year, which includes publishing three definitive guidelines: Reduction in Sentencing for a Guilty Plea; Sentencing Children and Young People and Imposition of Community and Custodial Sentences. The report also covers the five consultations we ran during the year, which included consultations on Bladed Articles and Offensive Weapons, Breach Offences, Intimidatory Offences, Domestic Abuse and revised guidelines for 27 summary-only offences from the Magistrates’ Court Sentencing Guidelines.
