The Council is pleased to announce the interim appointment of Chief Constable Rob Nixon QPM by the Lord Chancellor, with the agreement of the Lord Chief Justice.

Rob has served with Leicestershire Police since 1993 and was appointed as Chief Constable in November 2022, following a period as Assistant Chief Constable with responsibility for local policing, crime and intelligence and public protection. He was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in December 2020 as part of the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.

Rob has been appointed to the Sentencing Council on an interim basis pending an open competition for the policing role.
