Mark Castle, Chief Executive of Victim Support, has been appointed by the Lord Chancellor Michael Gove to the Sentencing Council as its victims’ representative. The appointment is for an initial term of 3 years from 1 August 2015.

He joined Victim Support last year from the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC), where he was Chief Executive. Previously he was Chief Executive of the Association of Police Authorities (APA) following a 31 year career in the Army. He currently sits on a number of boards and committees in criminal justice agencies including the College of Policing.

He takes over as victims’ representative from Javed Khan, formerly Victim Support CEO and now CEO of Barnardo’s.
